Easter Egger Sexing "tips and tricks" *Pictures Included*

so I am curious what you all think of my chicks on there genders. 2 I think may be male so far and 2 and maybe even 3 seem to be hens. not sure on one though. they are all at about 4.5 weeks give or take in these pictures.

Here is Annabelle
I think she is definitely a hen based off coloring. but I could be wrong.

Here is Dottie
developed her little comb first but no color yet and color screams hen to me.

Here is Maverik
the day after I took these pictures he(she) developed red right under the comb so i think a roo.

Here is Sparky
has recently developed a red comb now and based on coloring I think a roo.

Here is Squirt
she has developed so much slower the the rest, not sure what gender yet but hoping a hen as she is very sweet.

Here is Ziggy
I do believe based off coloring she will be a hen which hopefully I am right as she absolutely loves cuddling her and squirt are the friendliest out of all of them

As of today I have had them one month and I'm pretty sure they were a few days to even half a week when I got them. I am hoping to at least have 4 hens out of the 6. Let me know what you all think of them.

Hi I have a little flock of six almost six week olds, and 4 of them look pretty pullety to me, but I’m not sure on two old them. If they are boys that’s fine, maybe, I’ll breed them with some of my older EEs. Here are some pics. Thank you in advance! Sorry about the picture quality! As a side note, you can’t really see it, but #2 has a little bit of red coming in on the wings. Thanks!

I got squirt at the same time as the others, but since i got them from tsc could be up to a week younger, or could just be a slow grower.
Dottie, Annabelle and Ziggy all developed there tail and body feathers really fast then Maverik and sparky started next and they are still behind a little, and then squirt like a day or 2 after them started tail and body feathers, oddly enough squirt has his/her head feathers starting already before the body feathers really came all the way in though seems to be exploding all the way around now. Also with maverik the day after those pictures got some red spots right under the comb area.

You are right, both are cockerels.

1- male
2- can't tell
3- probably male, need better pic
4- male
5- can't tell
6- probably pullet

4 weeks is early. EE chicks all look like females until the males' hormones cause their combs to develop and later on male specific feathering develops. This can happen very early, but is usually evident in EE's by 6-8 weeks.
Hopefully your two "can't tells" will turn out to be pullets, but you never know when a cockerel's hormones will kick in.

Hope you can post again in a week. It helps to show a side view to see the feathering in addition to the pics of combs.

I have 2, 9 week old chickens. One is Dolly a Dominique who is definitely a pullet. The other, Amelia the Easter Egger, I have no clue. Any help would be appreciated as I am not allowed to have a cockerel in my county.

She/He has some shine to their tail feathers, she's more aggressive than Dolly, her feet are big, she doesn't have that roundish body like Dolly, but her comb isn't very red, it's not very big, and I've never heard her crow in any way. She also doesn't have reddish shoulders which other folks said were indicative of a male.

Here are some pictures of Amelia. She is very skittish, so I apologize for the pic quality, as we have 3 year old at home that loves her and Dolly but they are terrified of my son's loud, overly grabby ways.

Ok, I'll throw my two EEs into the "what are they?" pool! 😁 🥰
Both 10 weeks old. Both rambunctious and loud, yelling at anyone who gets in their way in the flock of 13. I believe both are pullets, I see no orange/red anywhere, but their tails make me wonder, and their stances. In the last picture of Zippy everyone was on alert because a large bird had flown over head.

Pepper -- all black and white
Zippy -- gray, black, white, light brownish

Note the 8th pic of the 9, is a couple weeks ago. The rest are recent.

Thank you for your input!! Much appreciated!
