Easter Egger take a guess

Hi there, this one was sold as an Amercauna. But after reading around here, I'm sure it's an EE. Not so sure about the gender. She/he is quite friendly and gets along well with the others. In fact they were all curled up together this afternoon. Is that abnormal for chickens and a rooster? But she/he does seem to be a leader in the flock, much more observant of their surroundings. Not aggressive at all.



Clover - 9 weeks


Also, Clover is the biggest (or maybe just the fluffiest!) of the 4. But they are all diff breeds, so I guess that's not saying much.

Definitely an Easter Egger. Looks like a pullet to me

And I've noticed that Easter Eggers seem to grow faster than other breeds.

Thanks! Yes, she seem to have a growth spurt pretty soon after we got them. Since then she has been significantly bigger. What caused me to wonder is how she seems to look out for the rest. They tend to take cues from her.

I think pullet too! I am new at this chicken sexing. I have 6 9 week EE's that were also sold as Ameracana...Anybody care to cast a vote as to roo or hen. The two that I think are roos are bigger than the hensblack hen

sassy hen
caramel hen
white speckled roo
black speckled roo
the gang - clockwise from 10 - black speckled too, black hen, sassy hen, white hen, caramel hen, white speckled roo..

Wish I could help you, I'm not good at this. I could see the roo b/c of the color change from neck to back. That makes sense.

I think EE's are hard b/c they come in sooo many color combos. I can also see that your roo's legs look like tree trunks compared to my hens!

I just can't wait to see if the eggs are blue! (though I won't be disappointed - I'll be thrilled when we get any eggs)
