Hi, I have an araucana x australorp pullet who has a straight comb, rather than a pea comb, so I don't know if she will lay green eggs. She is 19 weeks old. She almost looks like a bantam and despite being the oldest in our flock, she is one of the smaller chickens. I don't think she will grow much more. Is this because she is half araucana?

Welcome!

Sorry, I can not answer your question but just wanted to say that she is a cutie!

I hope you enjoy being a BYC member. There are lots of friendly and very helpful folks here so not only is it overflowing with useful information it is also a great place to make friends and have some fun.

If you would like to share more pictures and stories of your flock, you have come to the right place. BYC’ers never tire of these and do not back away slowly or commence eye rolling when the photo album or home videos come out

I can't say for sure, but she will probably lay green or olive colored eggs. It's really just wait and see, though. If she still hasn't started laying, she may fill out a little. (Get slightly larger and puffier)

Thanks everyone! She is definitely an araucana x, can't wait till she starts laying.

This is a pure araucana we recently got from the same breeder in some ways the araucana x australorp is very similar to her
