My Easter egger laid her first this morning, and it’s blue😁😁 I’m so excited

Somehow they seem to know. I got a dozen colored EE hatching eggs. Out of those one pullet laid green eggs. Only one. Great hen, laid a lot of fairly large mint green eggs and even went broody and raised chicks. She was killed in a dog attack.

I got a bunch of designer eggs, Ameraucana from a breeder. The pullets I kept did not lay until they were 9 months old. The breeder did not understand that, her pullets typically lay at 5 or 6 months. These hens' daughters usually lay at 5 to 6 months, like they were supposed to. But those first three!!! It doesn't have to be this hard, but sometimes it is. Just hang in there.

I'm just hoping it's not a green layer. Granted at least then her daughters might lay blue, but if she lays blue, I can breed her to my cream carrying male and should get blues and maybe greens
