I'm finding it difficult to determine if this bird is a pullet or roo? "She" is about 20 - 24 months old, hasn't crowed, bothered the other birds, etc.. all signs point to a pullet, but these are my first EE's so i'm not really sure how to tell them apart in terms of feathers, etc.

    This is "her":

This is the obvious Rooster, who's 2.5 weeks older:

"She" looks like a roo to me....because of "her" hackle and saddle feathers, also the red patches.

The bird in question is male. See how he's brightly colored, and has the long, pointy feathers from his neck and in front of his tail? Those are male traits.

I'm guessing you meant weeks, not months?

Darn!! I was really hoping my eyes were decieving me, or that regular rules didn't apply to EE's.... does one get much meat off an EE? When do you typically butcher?
