Hi everyone! I'm new to backyard chickens and have 6 1-week old baby chicks that we've welcomed to the household. I have 2 lavender orpingtons, 2 speckled sussex and 2 easter eggers. The orpington and spotted sussex are very active, eat tons and run around like....chickens. The two easter eggers just like to sleep under the lamp all the time. I measure the temperature regularly and it's always between 90-95 degrees. While all the other chicks are eating and drinking, the 2 easter eggers keep sleeping. I noticed their wings starting to droop a little, so I've been giving them water by hand. They drink it all, but I rarely see them drink from their feeder. I'm concerned about them getting dehydrated as well. The 2 easter eggers do eat, but not as much as the rest of the flock. Any advice here on getting these chicks to drink on their own? I change the water twice a day and give electrolyte water every other change.
Thanks!!
Thanks!!
