Picked these precious fluffs up the other day out of the "Americana" bin at TSC. The blue/black/splash chicks had foot feathering so grabbed five of those. None have muffs or pea combs.

What do you think? The blue and black almost look Marans to me, so I was thinking possibly Olive Eggers? Honestly anything is possible. I also got two Silver Laced Polish out of a Wyandotte bin, so there's definately credibility lacking when it comes to TSC chicks!

The feathered legged ones appear to have Marans in them- so they could either be Black or Blue Marans, or Olive eggers. Kind of early to tell now- but don't think you got duped. Easter Eggers and some kind of dark brown or olive eggers...

They get their chicks from Hoover. They sometimes make mistakes with their labeling.

BBS.. maybe Cochin.. are they bantam?

Looks like a good old fashioned mystery! :pop

I would say the first 2 pics are easter eggers. That's normally what you get when you buy "Ameraucanas".
Actually your spelling is accurate for the breed that is not known as EE. It is other spellings like the OP that are what you are referring to. :)

Thank you for correcting my mistake.

I mean a lot of stores sell "Ameraucanas" that are just easter eggers. My TSC does. And many hatcheries do. I suspect you may have some olive eggers but time will be the best way to tell.

Not always, no.

Both these chickens were easter eggers that layed green eggs with a purebred Ameraucana father. Easter eggers look very different based on random chance and what goes into the mix.

Thanks so much everyone! Looks like I'm going to have an assortment of colored eggs in my future!
