I have 4 Easter Eaggers and averaged 3 blue/green eggs a day for about 2 months and then overnight they quit laying. All the other chickens have continued to lay. It seems to have happened at the first cold spell in our area [below freezing at night]. Could this be the reason they quit laying, and it just didn't bother the other chickens? All my chickens are the same age.

I was getting a beautiful green egg daily from my one EE and when it got cold, she stopped. Her sister though gives us a nice beautiful brown egg. She's still laying daily. The weather warmed up to the high 70's in TN and I started to get my green eggs again. The temps just dropped so I'm sure that I'm going to lose my green eggs.

It's the weather change I'm sure. We even have ours under lights for 14 hours but the cold wins out here.

Mine stopped a couple weeks ago and hasn't started back up again. I don't expect her to either. I did have a young hen start to lay and my AO picked back up again. I'm getting an egg a day from each of them and one a day from my PR. I'm incubating my AO's eggs for this spring. The roosters will have nice long tails and should bring a good price. The hens i'll keep unless somebody convinces me they just have to have one. I have 2 pair of AO's at about 4 weeks old right now. The pullets are so much lighter than the cockreals, one especially. I hope she turnes out to be white. The parents are silver duckwing. One of the cockreals looks like maybe he's going to be a golden. The other i'll just have to wait and see. He is mostly black with white streaks. I need to get some recent pics.
