Hi, I bought four Easter Egger chick's in April. Or late March? Anyway they are about 3 months old and I think I may have 4 roos, though maybe I have at least one pullet? Can anyone tell for sure? Do I need to wait longer? The lightest one and the pretty yellow one fight with their talons, are they male for sure?

Other breeds I can identify easily but these guys have me stumped.

Thanks!

Moon Skin, You think all of them are girls except the pretty yellow one? Even the light one that fights with him?

Thanks for your fast response!

Hmm... figuring they're about 16/17 weeks old if you got them late March or early April, right?

Easter Eggers tend to be somewhat of a challenge to figure out. I'm not convinced that the first one is a rooster. (S)he may be coming up on laying. The comb is awful red and looks like something a cockerel would have, but the body looks like a pullet.

I'll go out on a limb and say you have all pullets. IF you have cockerels, then the first and last are suspects. But I think you'll get eggs from all of them.

I agree. The first one doesn't have any signs of being a rooster besides the larger comb. I think you have 4 pullets. They are all very pretty!

The first is definitely a cockeral to me. Larger brighter comb and what looks to be hackle and saddle feathers. The last one is a definate hen to me. The middle two I'll say are hens although I'm suspicious of the third.
