I have 2 easter eggers. One just started laying but the egg is off white with blue veins running through it. Does anyone know if it will be a different color after she lays a few? One is a silver black color the other is red and brown. Both are my avatar.

Usually the shade of blue or white doesn't change.

Brown can get lighter (and the green that results from the brown showing over blue) because it's like a paint on the egg shell. Best explainaition I got for egg color: shell is either white or blue (see inside) and the brown is a coating on the blue or white shell.

Thanks, but now after refrigerated they turn light brown. I bought these hoping i would have an unuasual color. Anyone else out there started out with light brown eggs?

They shouldn't change color after refrigeration. You might want to consult with an optometrist or whoever is playing tricks with you in your home :-).

They will lay 1 color their entire life. The blue/green/brown can be lighter when they are laying more eggs/week, and darker after a molt/break in egg laying. As a previous poster already suggested, crack the egg open and look at the inside of the shell, that is the base color of the shell. It will be either blue or white. Brown lays over the shell to create green or simply brown if the base shell is completely white.
