Thanks. So do you think they used legbars for the brownish wild patterned easter egger chicks. I bought 8 you would think at least some would have a muff and a beard if they where Ameraucauna crossed.Beautiful white bird by the way.
Im not sure what cross mine without the tell tale beard are.Thanks. So do you think they used legbars for the brownish wild patterned easter egger chicks. I bought 8 you would think at least some would have a muff and a beard if they where Ameraucauna crossed.
I get blues and greens, even a few light pinks. Mine range from silver, to gold, and cream.View attachment 1783502 View attachment 1783503 View attachment 1783504 View attachment 1783505 View attachment 1783506 I got my EE from Hoover this March, and she has the pattern of my Welsummer (also from Hoover), but dark-ashy brown instead of red. Her chest is lighter in color, and she has what appears to be a slight muff and beard. Her legs are olive green.
If the Hatchery sells chicks labeled as “Americana” which Hoover does, it’s just a marketing ploy. I think they are just EE/mutts. I highly doubt mine is mixed with Ameraucana or Auracana. However I’m hoping there might be since she does have a slight poofiness to her face. I’d love to have blue eggs, but I’m thinking she’s mixed with Welsummer, leghorn, and maybe something else. The pictures are from her at about 6 weeks old. She’s 9 weeks now.
If she’d sit still I’d get you a better picture of her face. Yours look redder than mine, more Welsummer dominant I think. You may end up with olive green eggs.
