Does anyone have the Blue Olive Eggers from Ideal Poultry? Their website has a pic of a chick, but no adult pics. I am curious as to what they look like as adults. I have had their regular Oliver Eggers, and they were sweet girls, but I am thinking for my next OE's, I might try their blue ones. I'd really like to see a pic, or hear from someone who has them.

Their regular OE's are described as "Ideal Olive Eggers will be crossed between Easter Eggers and either a Barnevelder or a Welsummer". No info given on the blues.

I don't have their Blue OEs but I have their 2 regular OEs and I have 4 of their Onyx OEs. I'm not sure how I got lucky there but they're not listed on the website. They're beautiful and just started laying!
Here's one of the original OEs Ideal sells:

And here are the Onyx OEs:

And here are the beautiful green eggs I've been getting!

I could have sworn I replied to this. My apologies I didn't. I love your onxy olive egger. Did she have the same brown chipmunk coloring as a chick, or was her baby fluff more black also?

I had two of their regular olive eggers a few years ago, but had to rehome them. They looked a lot like the one in your top pic, with the brown colors. Also, no crest. However, these two (the ones I am 90% sure are the olive eggers, with the third chipmunk chick being the welbar) appear to be developing little crests (they are 3.5 weeks old). That surprised me since the last ones I had did not.

Those eggs and the coloring on the onyx olive egger are beautiful. Lucky you!

The Onyx looked very similar to Black Copper Marans when they were babies. Mostly black with some white like little penguins.

I'd love to see your Blues grow! My regular one (the one in the first pic that had chipmunk coloring when she was born) laid me about 6 eggs and then went broody. She was so determined that I finally gave in and got her hatching eggs. She's STILL mothering them and they're about 8 weeks old now and almost as big as she is. 1 cockerel and 2 pullets.

As far as I know, I just have the regular olive eggers, not the blue (I wanted blue but they did not have them). I'll get some pics of what look like developing little crests tho. Because it's either that, or they are having a few really bad feather days. lol

My two original olive eggers laid really well. The friend who took them told me they were both really reliable for her. Not broody at all that I know of.

I think I just got "lucky" with her. She's nuts. The others haven't been broody and lay pretty well. I have 4 Onyx Eggers from Ideal and 2 regular Olive Eggers. The crazy broody lays green. The other one lays brown, unfortunately! She's my favorite, though, so she stays.
