I just bought 5 Ameracauna chicks for my kids....I thought they might love seeing the Easter Eggs

We will see!!

I have 2 EE's out of 16 chooks. They both lay green/blue eggs.

Definitely lower on the pecking order. Nice, friendly, not over the top in being friendly.

Very pretty. Good layers.

I like having them in my flock. On the occasion I get to sell a dozen eggs in the office
it always strikes up the conversation of chicken keeping and I think people become more
aware of backyard chickens.

I have 5 Easter Egg chicks and am thrilled to have them. Two are speckled brown with black stripe down their back, and what looks like eye liner. The other three are buff color with the cutest puffed cheeks. I ordered a variety of chicks that also includes Black Jersey Giants, Delawares, and Barred Rock. I'm mainly interested in brown eggs but the idea of blue/green eggs is cool.

I can buy either white or brown eggs at the store so I want a different color egg from my chickens. That's all.

Of all my chickens, they're favorites. Gentle, not trouble makers and lay pretty well. Oh, and the green/blue eggs. People know when I sell the eggs that they're getting eggs from my hens and not the store.

Oh, and my baby EE roo, Pistol, has such a personality!

There is something special about every kind of chicken. I agree that most people like EEs because of the variety of colored eggs you can get from them. I have two -- one lays a blue egg & one lays a green egg. I have a number of EE project eggs in the incubator that are part of a breeding project to produce hens that consistently lay a light blue egg, and I am looking forward to raising one or two of those chicks!

Maybe a lot of people like EEs because they are considered by some to be "mutt chickens", and there is just something about a mutt that is just irresistibly loveable.

I like them because it reminds me of my childhood. I loved those colored eggs and my friends thought the eggs were so cool. The chickens were also very friendly. I ordered some for my kids can enjoy them as well. Kids and some adults too get a kick out of the different eggs colors. I think its just a personal choice. I have one friend who says that they don't think they could ever eat a blue or green egg just because to them it wouldn't be normal. But they don't taste any different at all. Some like them, some don't. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder they say.

I was absoloutly not into colored eggs other than brown, until I hatched out 24 mixed eggs of which more than half of those where the colored eggs, i just figured if any of the EEs survived my first hatch attempt, I would just sell them. Little did I know that they are soooooooooo friendly and affectionate that I now refuse to sell them and have a very nice starter flock of 7 EE girls. I might add that they are soooo pretty and the color variations made it alot of fun watching them grow and develop, everday was something new. I really look forward now to when they start laying to see what colors of eggs they will lay
