Easter Silkie?... Silkie Egger? (silkie and easter egger hybrid)

View attachment 1441558 Hello! recently i moved my Silkie roo in with some of my larger gals because he was looking a little rough from one too many fights with my other Silkie rooster. so long story short i took an egg from my Easter Egger and put it in my incubator and sure enough after awhile i saw this.

Now finally after many days the lil guy hatched out and the looks exactly like a giant silkie chick!!!

Absolutely adorable!! I have heard that people have success with silkie roosters fertilizing their full size hens, I wish I could teach that skill to my roo, lol. I have a bantam Cochin rooster with all full size hens, and I check eggs for fertilization when I crack them, but sadly no luck.

But as i was handling him for this photo op i noticed something was strange with his legs. it would seem one side has the additional (in this case fused) 5th toe while the other leg had began forming the 5th then stopped abruptly.

yea it was so weird seeing the egg actually took off in the incubator lol
