I have 2 Serama boys I'm looking to rehome. I have 14 Seramas and 10 of them are boys, 5 are frizzled so I am looking to sell two of them. It's hard fir me to part with them as they're my first flock and I hatched them, but I've got to start somewhere.
They come from a pet quality breeder and I am not NPIP or anything, but the chickens have been inside their whole lives and came from a breeder who had all the testing done and was good to go.
I won't ship so buyer must be able to meet within a reasonable distance of Fayetteville, NC. Mostly it's because the postal system in Fayetteville is awful and I won't entrust my babies to them. Right now they are 12 weeks. They were hatched June 10, 2018.
So here they are. Nightsky is the spotted one and Loki is the other.
Nightsky has some fibro in him and his dad was cuckoo, as you can see. He is currently the alpha of my little flock. As you can see he is also a frizzle. While he is not especially used to being picked up, you can pet him on his chest and he will stay still and if you pick him up he won't struggle. A little more handling and I bet he'd be a little snuggle bug. Sorry his tail doesn't look that great, I'm sure if I gave him a bath he'd come out real nice.
Next is Loki. His father was a Serama with a beautiful red and light brown coloring. I do believe I have a picture if you'd like to see. Loki is #2 in the male pecking order. He is a bit skittish, but yesterday he discovered just how nice being pet can be. See I had to put him in his place a while back as he was trying his hardest to peck me when I got my hand near him. After that he would skitter away, but if I picked him up he was ok and wouldn't struggle or peck. Yesterday he didn't want to get off my hand after I gave him some pets, so he should be a little love bug as well with some more handling.
Also, he stands pretty decently so if someone wanted one to try their hand at tabletop or putting him in a show they could probably have a good time of it with him. I don't know the standard for frizzles, but his comb is nice, his back seems to be a good length and his chest looks high. If trained to stand properly he probably has a good chest.
His feathers are more reddish than the picture shows. For a long while under good lighting his feather looked like rose gold.
So obviously these guys would probably not be considered the cream of the crop. I am more hoping to sell these to someone who just really likes the breed and/or has some kids in 4H or something.
I'm asking $10 each, even if you want to buy them together. They are hatch mates and still enjoy a big cuddle pile at bedtime, so they should be fine together even as they get older.
