Eastern Wild Turkeys

Can anyone give me some ideas on raising wild turkeys, pen size, feed etc.

Do you raise them like the tame turkeys?:

I'd suggest chapter six as it has shots of covered runs/pens (Easterns are big flyers).

I've raised a full handfull of Eastern Wild Turkeys for my neighbor who has over 100 of them(well if you count the ones that got out and roost in the trees,lol)
The care for them is the same, since They are all the same species.

Unless you plan on cutting their wings often, you'll need a enclosed pen. My pens were 80 square feet and 6 feet high. My neighbors pen is HUGE.

I fed mine Market Bird Finisher. my neighbor feeds his Turkey Finisher plus fruits and vegetables. Up until the age of about two months, the poults prefered insects. Oh dont forget the grit.

My turkey's never went inside during bad weather, so You must put a tarp or shelter wherever they roost.
