Suggestion; what about having people go to Walmart or Sherwin Williams and picking up paint cards that match their eggs to photograph them with? That way, we can all tell exactly what color the egg is no matter what lighting is used.

Example: I have a bird that lays an egg just a smidge darker than the Martha Stewart Living color "Spring Melt" and another that lays one a pinch lighter than MSL "Artesian Well". I know those aren't Walmart or Sherwin Williams colors, but happened to have a MSL brochure handy, so that's what I used, but you get the idea. I'll try to get photos this evening; DD has the camera.

Aye, I agree on the difficulty of photographing blue and green eggs! Anyway, the egg on the left, below, is my entry for the Palest Minty Green Egg. It was laid this morning by my Silkie-X-Ameraucana. It's beside an olive egg laid by one of my BuffOrp-X-Ameraucanas.

Oh, I want to play!

Here's my entry for "Speckliest Egg", though I guess it would be good in the olive category too.

Very nice eggs everyone!

Princess Chicken, that is a STUNNING egg. I reccomend you enter it in "Most unusual eggs". It has great color and very interesting spots!
