This was a fun 3 day project. We raised the roof by 2' and modified the location/style of the doors to fit our existing run. The photos are before installing our roost and there is still some trim that needs to be painted. Looks like they posted our project details on the site, but I'm happy to share my modified plans and cut list for anyone interested. https://myoutdoorplans.com/animals/easy-chicken-coop-plans/

I think this is absolutely charming and a beautiful little build. Yes, the widened ramp is brilliant and hardware is gorgeous. I love that it took you 2 days, and you were featured on their website!!! Like total celebrity and certainly rocking that pink! ;) I also love the tin roof.

Now... I don't know what area you are in. You should put that on your avatar so we all know your conditions when responding (especially if emergency!). But I would worry a little about those gorgeous hooks and if it is easy for some critter to open? I don't have such predators where I am at but have read the stories about how they get in an take out a whole flock. So, I thought I would mention and I am sorry to rain negative on what is a very cute, fun, happy hen house.
Please update us on your flock or new additions. 🌴🤙
Congratulations on your new coop and welcome to BYC!!!

Super cute !
How many hens will you be having? Can't see the run on the pics but i LOVE the wide ramp. It is always funny/not funny watching 3 hens trying to get in the door at the same time
We have an existing coop with (3) chickens and an existing duck house with (7) ducks. This new addition is for our (2) baby turkeys ... which is why there is a 24"wide ramp. All our birds are free range during the day, so the run isn't used much.

Thanks for the advice! We're in Maryland and do have racoons, so I'll look into a better latch. This coop is for our (2) baby turkeys, they are a week old so it will be a bit until they move in. We're only a year into chickens & ducks, but we've never lost a bird to a predator. We have a doggie door with (3) large dogs who patrol the yard.

Yeah, I should have noticed your avatar. That is more like someone who may know their way around a coop photo lol. Wow Turkeys :lovevery fun!!!
Love the big dogs on duty, good sign with no casualties in a year. Bravo. Again I don't know these things and am speaking out of ignorance but I am glad you will look into it just in case. I do love them and want them to work he he he!

There is a bit of space on the roof line and the two vents on each side. We followed the plans, but may need to add more ventilation.

I don't know the requirements for turkeys, but for chickens the usual recommendation is 1 square foot per adult, standard-sized bird. :)

I'm thinking of getting turkeys in the next year or two.
