Hi all, I am newby to chicken farming. I am in process of building 4x8 chicken coop. I have
finished the 14" raised floor and I am planning construction for the walls with 2x4 construction 4 ft. high with 18" roof above that. I am trying to construct similar to ez clean design with 2 ft storage on one end with large 4 ft bifold doors on front and 5 nest on opposite side. This one has 4ft. cleanout under 2 roost immediately in front of cleanout door. I am just not sure how to line up vertical 2x4's to get maximum strength and maximum space in coop enclosure as online photos are not clear on inside of coop. Has anyone constructed this design and have exact interior dimensions ? If so please respond. I will post base design before attaching side panels and roof panels. I put 4x4 sled runners on bottom of base so I can move with my tractor when needed. I also purchesed 2 10x10 ft. dog lot panels for the movable lot. I will use 2 of the panels for the top as local hawk got 1 of my ducks a few years ago from an air raid! I learned the hard way to cover the critters! I bought these at tractor supply for 250.00 each. They are more sturdy than Lowes and 50.00 cheaper. My assistant at my office has been taking care of my 4 lady chickens for 1 month so I have to get this thing finished between work and UK ball games. Thanks in advance for any feedback.
