Easy DIY feeder

This chicken feeder cost me nothing to make and took 2 minutes. I cut holes in the sides of a gallon milk jug and suspended it from the roof of the run at about the level of the hen's backs. Not much gets spilled, the top of the jug keeps the rain off, and rodents can't get in. If it gets messy inside, I just make a new one.


 
Cool idea and it would work for a few chickens. But you can keep a lot of feed in it for big flocks.
 
No, I've only got 3 chickens and I need to fill it up every other day. Previously I had one a bucket type feeder with a storage tube made of 68mm PVC downpipe that held enough for 3-4 days and could be refilled by funnel from outside the run. But I haven't got around to making another of those.
