This will be my first hatch, so excuse my ignorance! How often do I need to fill up the water well in the bottom tray? The eggs have been in there since Saturday (almost 4 days). I took the top off and noticed the well is dry, but when I had it off, the temperature dropped fast. Is there a good way to add water while keeping the temperature semi-constant? Also can I add water while keeping the turner in, or should I take the whole thing out?

I really hope I get a semi-decent hatch. The temperature is still fluctuation anywhere from 98* - 102*....I feel like I am constantly adjusting the thermostat!!! Argh!!!!

Aquarium tubing run down thru the vent hole. I use a very small funnel that I insert into the end of the tubing and pour warm water into the funnel. I use a piece of duct tape that's rolled up as a plug in the end of the tubing. I fill mine every few days, or according to what my hygrometer/thermometer reads.

Even if you have to lift the lid and put water in the temp won't stay down for long. Just put warm water in so that it doesn't have to heat the water. It's not any worse than momma hen getting off the nest to eat and drink.
