Eatin chickens Crowing?

As its my first time raising the cornishx, and since they were st-run . . .

On average, do the roosters start crowing before 8 wks?
I know I have 2 roos for sure, not sure what kind . . .

I butcher at 8 weeks, and I've never heard a single crow from any of my batches.

I let some go to 12 weeks, they just started trying to crow.

some of mine were crowing before 9 weeks, I loved the sound and waited paitently for my EE roos to start crowing.

Mine are ALMOST a year old and they JUST started crowing maybe last month. I have 2 cockerals I never got around to processing so they're lawn ornaments along with the rest of em.

My Dixie Rainbows never crowed and they were 17 weeks. I thought it was kinda weird.

Last year I did 4 batches of CRs, and in two of the batches I had one CR rooster in each that tried to crow in about week 8. It was a seriously wimpy crow, but a crow!

The year before, not a peep out of the two batches that year.
