This may not be the right place to put this thread, but every one on here is interested in meat chickens. I recently purchased a chicken that is a feather plucker and just discovered to have coccidia. My question is whether it is harmful for human consumsion to eat chicken meat if the bird is carrying coccidia? It has not been put on any anti-coccidia meds yet. Thanks.

Eat away if it has not atrophied and you haven't medicated it. Cocci is a protozoa that lives in the guts and is species specific, so you can't get it, just other birds.

can anyone tell me about mites and if they jump to humans or are specie specific please? also worms.
