eating duck food!!

my chickens eat layer crumbles and yummy stuff from compost and also free range all day. i don't know if i should be concerned or not..but we now also have ducks in a separate coop. as soon as i let the ducks out for the day, the chickens are in there like a bolt of lighting chowing down on duck pellets. should i be concerned?? occasional duck pellet consumption for chickens won't be harmful to the chickens, will it?

Check the ingredients on your duck feed. I believe it should be the same for ducks, pheasants, game birds, etc. Some even say chicken on the bag. I believe it should be fine...if the ducks are for laying, they might even be placed on layer feed.
