eating feathers ?

I noticed if they have a sqabble that happens in the coop or the run and feathers fly every where , ALL chickens run and start eating these feathers . Is this common thing , or is there a problem ?

That's common - I believe I remember hearing that feathers are high in protein. Ours do the same.

This sounds sick but when we are processing birds our laying hens go crazy cleaning
up the mess. They love the feathers and whatever else they can find.
