I bet this is the wrong place to post this.....
but I dont know where it should go, and its about eating meat birds (wild turkey) so.....

Our property get a lots of wild turkey on it. We have some big huge males and some different family groups that graze and pass thru the forest and field on a regular basis.

What size/sex wild turkey tastes the best? how do you cook a wild turkey? same as a store bought one?

Do you like how they taste?

ok, good. i was hoping it wasnt really gamey and tough....
would you recommend a big old male or a smaller female?

I've never actually had a female turkey before. I usually hunt the larger males. It depends mainly on how you cook them. They can become tough if you cook it too long.

First check your regs, some places you can't shoot a hen, only Jakes and Toms.

There's a huge difference between wild and domestic turkey. I remove the breast fillets from Wild turkey, not much else to bother with but you may chose to cook it whole. I cut the breast fillets into strips, batter and fry them like chicken strips. Delicious.
