I got my BO chicks from Mcmurray. They have been really healthy. My brooder was a horse stock tank with a screen door on top. I used a heat lamp with the infrared bulb from tractor suppy and a dimmer switch bought from home depot. With the dimmer switch I did not have to raise and lower the lamp to adjust the heat. If your chicks are vaccinated you need unmedicated chick feed, if not vaccinated get the medicated feed. You also need a chick waterer and shavings for the bottom of the brooder. I also used Chick quick which I got from mcmurray. It is an electrolyte additive. Good Luck!

I got my chicks from Ideal and they were all very healthy. I got the insurance so they wouldn't put in any extras. I'm using a large dog crate for the brooder.

I'm jealous & am wanting to get a couple of Buff Oprs myself and was considering using mypetchicken. I didn't realize Ideal would send just 3 chicks. I'll be interested to see how you like your chicks and please do post pics if you can.
