I forgot to mention my roo had a giant comb. Here he is at 20 weeks. You can see the copper feathers and how big that comb is. If you post that second pic we can take another look at your girls (hopefully)
Those are beautiful boys. They look identical to my 10 1/2 week old FBCM cockerels. If they are young enough to be peeping and half the size of your adults and look like that? Don't get your hopes up. My Cottage Hill cockerels are the smartest chickens I've ever had. Very roo-ish. And already cheeky with the older flock of EEs and barnyard mixes when they free range together.
Ok, here are some more pics. I had no idea how hard chickens can be to take pics of! Let's see if these help! I'm still curious about finding out their gender even though I sold them today
Given that they're still peeping, and they have THAT much red on the comb, and in the feathers, especially in feathers not on the neck, I'd bet they were both boys. BCM hens only get red on their necks, like a previous poster said. The fact that they had some on their backs is extremely rooish.
Sorry!
Edited to add a picture of my BCM when he was about the same age as your chicks. He turned out to be a gorgeous rooster.
