EDUCATIONAL INCUBATION & HATCHING CHAT THREAD, w/ Sally Sunshine Shipped Eggs

X2.

Good luck with the surgery.

What did you do to you wing Banti?

All Sally's local Maran Eggs hatched! @BantyChooks

I just keep pulling it- I forget that it's weak (horse accident 3ish years ago) and I use it too much. It's worse than usual after I yanked it hard a few weeks back.

YAY for Marans chickies!! :weee

I was out in my blind hoping a deer would come close enough for a shot; no such luck. Saw 3, but way too far out. Saw a red fox & a tree rat, but they aren't on the menu.

Sitting here eating breakfast, sucking on a cup of hot chocolate, & trying to convince myself to go hang another half door on the shed

Just made an executive decision to clean the black powder rifle; the door can wait 'til the sun warms things up a bit
I hate squirrels when I am hunting. They make too much noise. One time I stopped looking when I heard leaves. I was sitting on a downed tree watching forward when I heard a loud enough crack to make me turn. I was not in a blind, but I had been still enough that that crack was a ten point buck about ten feet behind me. I looked at him as he looked at me. After starring at each other for a second I started to raise my rifle and he broke taking off like a streak sounding the alarm. I sat back down shaking my head. Stupid squirrels.

@BantyChooks have about 20 trader Joe eggs developing, and will get a selection of fun eggs from my friend - whatever is laying, on Tuesday :weee
Probably isbars, svart honas and other fun breeds.

You'll have to let us know what other fun breeds you get!

did you know my goat is now standing on the milking stand every morning when I come out??? She learned that she gets her grain on the stand, and her baby back after she milks.

I'm amazed at how fast she learned that. She even puts her own head through the milking stand clamper-downer, (my word for it) now.
They learn fast. My friend has her milk stand in a stall at the end of the barn. She opens the lower pen they go around the barn and get on the stand by themselves. They know they get grain, and back into the upper pen with the babies.
Mine go up on the stand great too.
