my dogs parents were both certified for hips and elbows
they were from working lines

Does anyone know if muscovy drakes get the curled tail feather? I was looking at mine and didn't see one but I'm still new to ducks. Also, why do they flap their wings and stand on their tip toes for a few minutes straight lol. Are they just being goofy and playing or what? I love watching them. They make me laugh

I was wondering if that's what he was saying. I've seen many cases of bad hips in dogs. Shepherds don't have a corner on that market, by a long stretch. It's called Hip Displasia, and it plagues many large breeds. It's when the ball/socket joint in the hips is malformed, The socket is too shallow to keep the ball in place. Irish Setters, in particular, have bad hips. The problem can be avoided by breeding only dogs with clean hips & OFA certification, but many "puppy mill" breeders ignore it.

That's what I was thinking! My Siberian is from show lines and was shown a few times when she was young (too young). I can't even imagine a dog with that bad of a back being shown.
