Quote: oh how pretty!! where did you order from!

Morning how is everyone.I am in pain
I hope you feel well soon!

This is what I've been looking at for the last few weeks

At the far side of the mowed area is the feeder, 38 yds away

Panning to the left, this is straight ahead. The open field is on the adjoining property

This is the view to my left.

Altogether, this is what I can see from a single position in the blind. I can move to either end & see more, but these are the most active areas. Not a bad setup, even though it's small. We've taken a lot of deer off this place over the years.
Very pretty!!!

My son's on the way back to WI; pulled out about an hour ago, & I miss him already. Living so far apart, we usually only get to see him once a year, although he & his wife were here in July for our 50th anniversary. We never get to see them @ Christmas; haven't since they've been together for the last 15 years or so...DIL refuses to spend Christmas away from Mommy. Of course that means her husband has to spend Christmas away from his family every year, but I guess that doesn't count. No, she's not selfish. I'm not a little bitter, either...the H--- I ain't!

Sorry for the pity party; I just needed to vent a bit.

At least I got to spend four quality days with my only son, doing what we both love; hunting deer. We saw deer every day, sometimes several, including a couple of really nice bucks. Unfortunately, if they weren't on someone else's property, we couldn't get a clean shot at them. We started calling one of them the "Oh my God buck" That was my son's reaction the first time he got a look at him through the scope. We saw him twice. Rack's not real high, but extends well out past his ears. Never got a count of the number of points; at least 8, we're thinking. Over the 4 days, we passed on so many does we could've stacked them like cord wood; all yearlings but one we saw yesterday @ 20 yards. She was on top of us before we ever saw her, staring straight at the blind; I couldn't open the window or get the rifle in position before she spooked. All part of deer hunting.
Glad you had a good visit with your son. Sorry about the Christmas thing. Things started that way with my brother, and my Mother put her foot down - now they alternate (which is reasonable, he just didn't ever speak up about it before to my SIL).

I wish Whites. I have the flu on top of everything else...

My hair even hurts..... Hope you are well and that you got a deer. Bill did not get on this yar. Not much time to hunt with his new job and me being laid up. Poor guy. He's an angel!
So sorry - hope you are better soon...

I've got bread rising in the kitchen, I'm about to make some pizza dough to rise (I made extra starter this round), then I need to head back out in the rain and get more done. (Though I hate feeling so chilled...)

Off to knead dough!

Hi Sally!

Ohio is also Brucellosis free, so I don't test for that. The CL blood test is useless, the abscess of a goat showing signs needs to be tested for accurate test. So really I test only for CAE and Johne's.
