EDUCATIONAL INCUBATION & HATCHING CHAT THREAD, w/ Sally Sunshine Shipped Eggs

Ok, genetics people. Here's my plan. I have two "EE" pullets (roo was HRIR/amerecauna, hens were amerecaunas in the wrong colors= EEs?) and a sapphire roo. Will he do anything to enhance the color in their offspring or is that wishful thinking? I also have two legbar pullets that could go in that pen. I want to have "Sowing&Crowing Super Blues" which would be white/spotted/speckled birds thrifty on feed and very blue/green eggs. My EE hens are my best layers, and the only ones still laying through molting.

I don't know, but it sounds cool. I love blue and green eggs. I will look forward to the answer. My EE are second only to my Sapphire in laying. She is a machine.

Saw something yesterday wish I had gotten a picture of it, eagle down by the news paper boxes munching on a dead animal, 1st I've seen around here in 18 years of moving back home, was neat as heck

@campingshaws

did you get more eggs form your neighbor?? or more duck eggs??

Not yet. I need to continue downsizing (for now) so I can soften DH to the idea of breed pens. :fl My single ray of hope is that yesterday we were at the farm (after selling 13 birds) and I pointed out the sapphire roo. He said "I actually like that one. He looks like a real chicken." :yesss:

So I'm hoping I can talk him into a sapphire pen and sneak the EEs and CCL into it. :highfive:
