There are several RIR breeders down your way.

I'd look for those that raise only RIR or just a couple other breeds.

Every year we go to a cool wine bar and restaurant called Sasha's on Shaw in the city. It is mostly couches and plush chairs around fireplaces in an old brick building like my house. It was warm enough last night to sit around the fire on the patio.
Last night it was our kids, their significant others and 4 more friends. We shared the world tour cheese plate, olive plate, charcuterie plate and I had the lamb chops.

This morning everyone is coming over for breakfast and presents. Every year we all go to the theater together Christmas afternoon.  The movie "Fences" today.


Yeah, I forgot to mention gable vents if one gets snow that would cover the ridge vents.

I've heard that Santa doesn't visit if you're not sleeping.

I sometimes use baby aspirin. Crushed up mixed with water.

Just have to remember to keep the dust and webs off of the vents.

Chrissy *might* have nibbled a bit more food slop, I saw uneven patterns in the bottom... She's still very annoyed that I had to spray her wounds, but I just wish she'd start eating. It's been four days now.

She did, however, stand upright on one web and a wing for a moment to fix the way she was sitting!! Even bigger progress!!

I guess you missed that I lost my sick pullet. She was the best of my four of course, and since she was just point of lay I could not even save her genetics. I wish she had been a simple RIR. She is a heritage RIR and wgile no where near as rare as your breed still rare and vastly different than just RIR. I had the 13 brought in this last spring as day old chicks. I only got four pullets. I then paid over a hundred dollars per bird to get two other pullets here. I had hoped to have two families to start with. She was the best of the two of my four that were close enough to SOP to breed. She was actually a pretty nice pullet. I will have to try to get something next year if I can afford it. With my big trip though I don't know. I really had hoped to have a base to start breeding not just reproducing beautiful HRIR.

At a pause in the day's activities - my parents' apartment is quite small, so I'm trying to stay out of the way for a little bit as we get ready to go to my brother's for Christmas lunch/dinner. I hope everyone is having a great day! What does it say about me that part of me is itching to go clean a coop or watch chickens or something?!
