Overheard DH talking to his buddy about backpacking in Arkansas again, sometime after Christmas. No dates set, but all the guys are in.

I wasn't invited, of informed. So tomorrow I'm starting my breed pens.

one hang up I've had is turning our yard into chicken farm, since we don't own it and won't be here forever. But the back side of the barn isn't used for anything AND it's out of sight. I can use the back of the barn as the back of the breed pens. It's pretty close to the tree line and I don't like that, but it would have shade almost all day. Weeds are head high so I'll have to put the goats back there for a few days.

Anyway, plans!

Will your goats eat anything?? My goats are picky!! A lot of people think goats will eat anything but they do not. Well of course and some things can kill them but they won't eat the things I really want them to eat!! They'll snub their nose at certain plants and then devour others. They're not very trainable either or else I'm doing it wrong!!! Lol

Nope, they're little snobs. Mine won't tough poison ivy unless there is LITERALLY nothing but dirt left. They even ate the gardenia over the poison ivy. I know they won't eat that chicken tree I hate, but the place is crawling with muscadine vines and goldenrod and plain old high grass. So they should at least make a dent.

Why can't mommies have vacations??? One kid ate 4 pieces of pizza granted they weren't huge then came to me I say 30-45 minutes later saying he was hungry. My 9 year old drove me batty about going my moms because it was "his night"! Hubs is trying to watch Big Blue Nation so he's hollering at kids to be quite when he has volume on like max! Little girl is just wanting to climb all over the place,drag out toys and not pick up...... I'm ready to run. But big people's is not much gas in my car. If I could fuel it with my anxiety I'd be doing GREAT

Exactly lol!!! Mine too! They have eaten the bark up about 5 feet high on every single tree in their pen!!! Pines and gums. They've absolutely murdered these poor trees. But they will not eat the 10 foot tall ragweed all over my 24 acres!! Ahhhh so annoying because we can't see good to deer hunt. So I really really want them to eat that stuff. I hate it. I was wondering if it was just mine that thought they were too good for certain weeds.

Push them all out with the hubs and tell him to take them to McDonald's so you can catch your bearings. Sounds just like my day. My throat is soar now!

4 pieces of pizza? My teenager can eat an entire piece of pizza to himself, plus some.
My almost 6 year old, can eat 3-4 tacos in a sitting, and my toddler averages a banana, a bowl of oatmeal, a handful of cereal then a hot dog for breakfast... and that's if he doesn't eat 3 pieces of sausage and pancakes instead. LOL

My kids are eating me out of house and home.

As to the anxiety, I occasionally have some issues with it - due to my autism and sensory processing disorder... which is why I prefer isolation and animals over most people...

For what it's worth, I make my kids pick up after themselves, or the TV can't be turned on. LOL

You aren't alone

As long as your kids won't cough in my face or wipe boogers on me, I'd watch them. What's a few more? (I kid, sort of.)
