EDUCATIONAL INCUBATION & HATCHING CHAT THREAD, w/ Sally Sunshine Shipped Eggs

How are your juniors doing? Anything promising?
It's still to early to tell for the ones I'm growing out. They are only 13 weeks old. Should be able to better judge them right around 20 weeks, although people say there personality doesn't finish developing until 1 yr +. I've got some Swedish Flower Hens set to hatch on Saturday though.

So great to hear from you! Boy have those pups grown. We missed you, but Mike said you were out of data and then busy. With Christmas, kids, pups, and normal chores I just can't imagine

Except for loosing my best HRIR pullet at point of lay Saturday morning so I could not even save her genetics I am well. I griped about why it is always the important ones and never one of the multitude of layers that were not bought for breeding and are easily replaceable. I got to ride and help a couple of friends with stuff Monday and Christmas was pleasant.

@Fire Ant Farm Yes, for the kitchen.

@BantyChooks I hope your hatch is more successful than you expect.

Good morning everyone!

good morning

Daxi, we have a similar curtain in our kitchen, I like them !!

The EE and Ameraucana hang out at the opposite end of the roost. The Ameraucana is in charge and he avoids him, but he has a couple of lower girls that hang with him in the coop and free ranging. He will have his own group in March or April when I open up the green coop again.

Glad to hear that they are coexisting for the time being.

Oh, envy. I lost mine to the ms outbreak when we had to treat all the eggs in the Bator. I would like to get some fifty five flowery for the egg color, but the Swedish hens are so pretty.

Were the eggs laid on your place, if yes what does your lighting set-up look like and when did you turn it on in the fall?
No not laid on my place. They came from a BYCer in Ohio. I don't use a light so the girls can take a break in the winter time.

They are very pretty so I'm hoping for a good hatch.
