Why would anyone in their right mind even enter a bird like that, unless they enjoy making donations?

It was a very small show just to occupy someone's Saturday morning. (not a lot to do in Silex)
At another show there, the judge stopped halfway through and told everyone to take their birds home and dust them. Apparently most had lice/mites.

Tabletop is so time consuming, they have now set limits on the amount of birds one person can enter. i won't show a bird unless i think it can win or if I am training it because it showed potential at home. I think this one lady brought 25+ birds-most looked more like japanese bantams or OEGB's and then showed one REALLY BAD one. The judge pulled her aside after the show and walked over to the cage of that bird with her and quietly said "you know where that bird would do really well???? In a soup pot!"

Harsh maybe but I think she got the pic cause the next show she showed up with only 3 or 4 decent looking birds

Brrrr... I do everything I can to ensure they all have fresh clean nest boxes with lots of soft material. Within about an hour it's all bare spots and mud (sometimes poop). I think they do it to amuse themselves and laugh at me every time I try to fix it. 



IKR?! Crazy. The Naked Necks (you know, the ones with half the feathers as all the others) seem to be the LEAST bothered by the cold despite the big temp swings. Out first thing this am, digging vigorously around. They're the ones who insist on roosting in the open air ("We don't need no stinking hen house!"). Tough buggers they are. 
Did the water hauling thing early this morning since it was 21F this am. Would rather have stayed in bed.

I already have to change the water a couple times a day because it gets too hot in the summer - this is supposed to be the EASY part of the year!

She is kind of upset I shared it.  I did no find the "attire" to be unusual  I find that she would interrupt her shower and go out in 5 below temps to remove my sweet turkeys from the deck funny.   She tries to tell people she hates the turkeys but I have pictures of her sitting and hugging Ethel.

BTW if I did not feed them on the deck I would not get the entertainment value of her trying to keep them off the deck. It gives me  hours of entertainment.   Now if she would just not take it personally and make me breakfast! 

She is so lucky being the only woman with the privilege to be married to me.....

I need to apologize. I have no idea how I managed to sound like such a jerk this morning! I know what I was aiming for, but reading what I wrote, it sounded nasty. I am so sorry for that!!
