Ouch!Story time...
About 2 miles down the road from me is a family who raises goats, chickens, rabbits, not sure what else they have. Anyway, their house burned completely to the ground, nothing left. They got out of the house safely, no people were injured.
The cause of the fire turned out to be a floor heater that they put outside on their back deck, to keep chicks and goats warm that they had brought up for the night because of our unusually cold weather that hit. So sad, all those animals died in the fire. The best guess is that the wind knocked the heater over.
Just sharing as a reminder to be safe with heat sources.
I had a friend several years ago that died in a house fire. After everyone had gone to bed, the couch caught fire from a lit cigarette. They all got out, but he went back to get the kids' dog. He was last seen standing at an upstairs window.
