oh no!!! what are you going to snack on!!

I have it in a bowl with ice and water
good......

I take it you bought something like an Accu-rite rather than the spot check or Thermoworks that I suggested.

You would already be incubating rather than beating your head against the wall.
i have seen/heard of a spotcheck being up to 2* off

Help! What is wrong? It was malpositioned all the way at the other end. I had to assist it most of the hatch. It's very weak, hardly moving. It's chirping every once in a while. Is the bump by the eye just swollen from being in the egg for so long? Or a birth defect? What do I do?
poor thing

so sorry

It shows 34 degrees it's been 14 minutes in the ice water
sounds fine, off 2*
20 minutes and it still shows 34 now what do I do
hit the buttons on the back like it says and change the read-out down 2*

All the short stuff belong to the 1/2 person?
yep!

I'd say either it's 2 degrees off or your water has warmed up. If it never went below 34 degrees then it's off by 2* so just remember that when you're adjusting your bator.
out of ovates, sorry

There's a few out. Was it Jimmie Johnson the race car driver that used to run shine when he was young? He has one called 'Midnight Moon'. I've had the real uncut stuff truck driver from TN used to bring it up where I work. The stuff in stores is usually cut to 80proof, taste the same, good stuff.
Taste like chicken, just looks weird Lol! :-D
not jimmie, junior johnson

Ok the one ms sally had sent me is showing 100 a and the new one is showing 102 so I think I got it at 100
sounds good!

There set wish me luck I think I got it right I wrote down temps and what I am doing this time
good luck!

you got outbid though

DH asked me today what I wanted for Valentine's Day. I told him a couple three cattle panels so I can make sun shades for my flock and a trellis or two and real fast said and a dozen of our neighbors mixed breed bantam eggs for my incubator......and smiled sweetly.

He's a good guy. Guess I'd better calibrate the Brinsea tomorrow.

i asked for an incubator last year, never got one

I like Nutrena. Am using Feather Fixer currently. All Flock is newer, I guess, can't find it easily (yet).
Go get that little chicken inside and give her some snuggles!
if it is a nutrena dealer have them order it for you, thats what i do

I'm seeing none.

welcome back,
too flat, no pond, and very under budget
lol

My first thought when I saw it was a mud turtle.
now i am going to have to look up a mud turtle

I don't believe you.
me either

Interesting morning - at about 8:15am, I heard a distant "Boom" and the power went out. All is well in my house best I can tell, and when calling the power company, sounds like a transformer blew. I was told that my own electrical issues could not have caused it (I'm going to try to catch the work crew to ask them as well). They said it would be fixed before the electrician got here this afternoon. Given my issues, I'm not willing to leave the house because I want to be here watching when the power comes back on, just in case something blows or sparks.

So, incubator, hatcher, and MHP for the new chicks all plugged into the little generator. (So is the internet router.) Now I need to figure out how to get some stuff done for work that would really be easiest done THERE. Time to start emailing folks.

(@Phage - I saw I got outbid on the Ayam Cemani eggs - I'm taking it as a sign from the universe that I don't need to hatch any more eggs right now. I'll just plan on getting them later, which was the original plan anyhow...)

oh no!!! good luck!!!

Just because the thought crossed my mind:

I find it fairly interesting that none of my BCMxRSL pullets, now 6+ months old, have next to no comb, The BCM rooster obviously has a full comb, & the RSL's all carry normal-sized combs, but the offspring's combs are pretty much non-existent.

Is this the norm? I realize that sexlinks don't breed true, but I still find it curious.

Only because you load it down with sugar and cream!

bun.gif

How else is she supposed to choke it down?

I load my real coffee down with sugar and cream. lol

When I drank "real" coffee, I loaded it down with sugar and cream also...the lighter the better!

Two things:

What is the point of decaf? Why bother if you aren't getting caffeine?

Why cover the wonderful life giving taste of coffee with that yucky cream and sugar?

Yes, medical reasons.

Maybe because they aren't sweet enough people so they think if they eat a bunch of sugar they will get sweeter.

Hey, that's not nice!

my leghorn pullet took forever to get a comb, but when it finally came in it was HUGE
looked like a rooster
