EDUCATIONAL INCUBATION & HATCHING CHAT THREAD, w/ Sally Sunshine Shipped Eggs

Could be the grain. What I just posted above, is what we feed, and it's corn/grain free.

I finally got 5 eggs today, which means two more pullets are no longer freeloaders....two more to go.
:clap

I am on my way to the auction to drop off my Saanen buck. I hate taking animals to the auction, but as we all know reality is hard and I can't keep them all :(

KIDS ARE EXCITED... we apparently got our "first" turkey egg..... I still suspect it's a chicken egg that's XLARGE... but hubby said he's sure it's just a "Small first turkey" egg.... LOL
Congratulations!

The restaurant that Bill and I had dinner at after we got married is closing its doors as of 2/19

It is on top of the Ren Cen in Downtown Detroit and has the most fantastic food and view. But I geuss real eastate in the city is at a premium high right now and people aren't spending the kind of money on dinners often enough these days for them to renew their lease. Guess we will be going out for an early anniversary dinner and getting dressed up after all

That stinks, hopefully you'll find a new place to go for new memories.

Auction houses are alright if you know what you're doing, but it's easy to get taken if you don't. It's a shame so many of them are not much more than killer barns. I've had to outbid meat buyers more than once.
True, but my dilemma with him is that even though he is a rare registered purebred Saanen, and could be a good sire for a couple of seasons his time is limited. His first owner did not pasteurize the milk she bottle fed him and did not know her doe carried CAE. He won't pass it through semen, but it is a digenerative condition that he is showing signs of at less than two years. For me it is a tough call wether I think the meat market is best. He produces nice kids, but I worry someone would let him live too long in pain when it progresses.

Haven't had a measurable snow yet, which is not all that uncommon, but suits me just fine.
