EDUCATIONAL INCUBATION & HATCHING CHAT THREAD, w/ Sally Sunshine Shipped Eggs

Banti - I found one reference. If your chicks are fully formed but are DIS before pipping, it lists these possibilities:

- Disease or flock in poor condition
- Eggs chilled or overheated before collection (I think they meant before incubation)
- Low average humidity over the incubation cycle
- Temperature of incubator too high or low
- Incorrect or inadequate turning

That really narrows it down. :lau

We might be on to something here.

Second, @BantyChooks I have no idea what was up with my sister!

How high do you take humidity at lockdown and do you lower the temp about a degree at lockdown?

Does anyone use (or know someone who uses) the brinsea mini? I shipped eggs from LA to NM, they all arrived intact and with mostly fine AC.

They were set Thursday in the BR mini and I'm concerned that they can only be on their sides.

any advice on this?
I have used the Brinsea mini on shipped eggs with good air cells without issues.

First, anyone remember who it was that was furious last year when I did this https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/669281/should-i-buy-eggs-or-wait-it-out/20380_20#post_16502900
on the incubating thread? I got tired of searching. I just remember after posting a picture, someone tore me apart.
