I only have one in all of mine, and they run almost year round and KNOCK WOOD still havent failed me, even if I let the cooler lid open a tad it sticks to the correct temp!

WOW! This thread moves fast!
I am so EGG-cited about this hatch! Sooooo much to do before babies arrive on the 18th!! Temporary indoor brooder, and fermented chick feed and Mama Heating Cave! AAaaahhhh!!!

I use a dog play pen. I put a tarp then the heavy plastic and clip it to the outside with clothes pins. Dog puppy pads the first week, then shavings. Then at the end I pull the pen fold up the tarp, and take it out to compost disposing of the plastic. If you keep them in more than a couple of weeks, I cover it with bird netting.
