4 poults have hatched so far I may not sell any of them...this time lol. Looks like 2 royal palms, 1 bourbon buff, and possibly a golden narragansett; )

It is still swinging! You need a consistency in plumage for minimum of 3 generation to be on the safe side! ( you will still have glitch onc in a while! ) so keep all your stock and start spreading after you got that goal !

I agree it is still in swing. and could for a couple more generations.

I am spreading the stock to others that understand they are not "done" yet.

I want to get them out so there are more out there in case I need to bring them back to me, lets say I get a disease or a predator. I will lose all I have worked for. By sending them out now, I get to see how they do in different conditions and raised by others, which is valuable but not as valuable as having a place I can buy some back from.

I hope that makes sense.

I am not distributing them as the ultimate meat bird yet, I think they have potential to those of us that want to live a sustainable lifestyle, but they are no guarantees right now.

I agree, back up is very important! Let say that you don't want "to put all the eggs in one basket!"

Cold is just reducing the metabolism ( to much and you are done!) But it is reversible To hot is ruining the protein structure ( denaturation ) and that is fatal and irreversible !
