Twice in a row was enough, thanks! She wanted it again, but it was time for bed.

I guess if you have it growing wild its great!  I wonder if I could find a farm to do that as well.  Dont let me forget when I am better to ask around!  I do have a few friends that may have it growing.  at least to get it hear to start it.

Chickens out did themselves today. 39 eggs compared to 24. Not sure if that's two days of duck weed or the weather I don't remember ever getting 39 though. We'll see how they do tomorrow

:celebrate SQUEEEEEEEE! :celebrate

I just had my first egg hatch. The little chipmunk fuzzy butt started with a pip and pulled a Cartman.......Said "s.... you fellows I'm goin home" only instead of going home it just erupted out of the shell and is happily screaming it's little lungs out. It set for a good 15 minutes with half of the shell on it's back so I've named it Tortuga, the turtle, Tori for short.

I have a lot more pips waiting in the wings. This is so exciting! Safe to say I'm hooked!

Congrats!!

Day 10 of incubation

I started with 16 duck eggs.
8 magpie, 7 ancona, and 1 runner.

They were all marked M for magpie, or A for ancona, the runner egg had nothing.
Then they were marked A B C D E etc.

The temp. has been about varies from. 98.5 to 100.2 pretty much, the humidity stays about 35-40 %

I candled them all today. It is truly amazing how they have grown in 5 days.

All the Magpie eggs have little babies rocking back and forth. It is quite adorable to see them swinging back and forth in their egg! Not even hatched and they already love swimming.

The air cells seem the right size.

The ancona eggs C had a blood ring, and D was clear. The runner egg was clear which dosen't surprise me since neither boy cares for her. They were discarded. Pic will come later
