The most I've done alone is 14 and I was highly motivated. Now 5 a day is it. Just takes more days that's all. I skin and part the bird in one hanging.

Agree on little ones. Once the grandsons were "helping" with some turkeys. Took more pictures than anything else. Which I promptly told them to delete. Since they couldn't share with their friends they weren't interested in helping. They would now but they are much older and have better things to do.

Me and my wife did 33 in a day....never ever doing that again. As a family we did 15 a couple weeks ago. That was about right. The oldest 2 boys are good helpers and the middle one gave a play by play of the how to's to the youngest 2. It worked.

Interesting development - Opal does not like Brooke. (To be fair, I was warned about this, which is why there are litter boxes on either side of the house.) From her body language watching Brooke prowling in the darkened bedroom from the living room, it seems that Opal likes me more than Brooke. Not sure if this is a good thing or not. :/

They will probably adjust fine. You know they are better off in your home.

I don't like talking to her, but after answering my question, she chattered about non-confrontational stuff. She ran out of steam just as the mix was done. Not before mentioning coffee and donuts. I'm brewing a pot now.

Sadly, the recipe will not be repeated. They are no better than cookies. I didn't use much of it, so I'm likely to add raisins, and make it into two loaves of spiced bread tomorrow.

Father in law owned a donut shop years ago. What a lot of work. Once we weighed an apple fritter before frying and sugar. 8 oz. after frying and sugar 16 oz. spiced bread sounds yummy.
