EDUCATIONAL INCUBATION & HATCHING CHAT THREAD, w/ Sally Sunshine Shipped Eggs

x2. We have a trip to Oregon for a week this July and my BIL is going to be watching all of our animals. I'm telling him to keep them penned up the whole time since he will be here in the morning to feed them and maybe in the evening to collect dishes but that's it. Not only would he be caring for the chickens and turkeys, but also, the cat, rabbit, fish (all 3 tanks) and maybe the dogs (I don't know if we'll kennel them or not). He's only ever cared for his cat. I'm very nervous.

I'm also going to Oregon for a few days for nephews wedding in July. Young lady I'll have watching the chickens takes care of the chickens for her grandma while they are away. She's doing much better these days. When we first tried her on the animals she completely forgot about us. Fortunately it was only for the night and morning. Yea scary.

I think so too! How are you? Long time.... See this I have become an expert!
I'm doing great! This thread moves WAY too fast for me to follow most days. I miss everyone though!!! Those bracelets are AWESOME. I've fallen behind. I did just see a great sale, so I bought about 20 more packages of paracord. Are you ready for another shipment?
Yes! You send I pay  Do you see something that you want?

Hi all,,,

I just finished eliminating a  horde of Rats. It was not fun, it was like 10,000  residents of the Vast wasteland to the north invaded at once.

I had no rats then a billion rats!   I moved every thing out of where they invaded and started feeding them bars of rat poison by the gross... And it was gross.

I know it is nothing to be ashamed of but I felt dirty the whole time  they were here.  It took nearly a month but I am not happily rat free.

The rats were the reasons I changed feed, feeders and got cats.  When my old dog passes this summer or fall I am getting a rat terrier.

My Dad had rats in one of the granaries here 40-50 years ago, I now know why he was so Po'd about it. I felt the same way..

So good luck in getting rid of them, I really do know how you feel.

I also had to resort to the poison. It was terribly gross. Now I keep food in bins only feed what they can eat at a feeding and keep traps set. The traps I have set now are arranged in a circle with the poison screwed to a board in the center of traps not on the trips. That way I get them and they don't take poison away.

I LOVE the Yellow and Black one - can you send me a link on how to make that one?

I'll get a photo of all the colors again and you can let me know which ones you like. Tell me the lengths to cut them and I'll put together a care package.

I love seeing all the different designs you make!! I only have 2 type bracelet I know how to do....

We may have to resort to poison. I just worry about the cats/dogs, or birds eating them.

My chickens have been known to kill and eat mice/rats, too.
