EDUCATIONAL INCUBATION & HATCHING CHAT THREAD, w/ Sally Sunshine Shipped Eggs

She doesn't like the taste or texture though she does like them in baked goods.

I really don't see a difference unless you are eating them raw.

This is a photo of one of my chicks.
All of them have this weird little bump on their leg-almost like a spur. They are only almost 4 weeks old, and I haven't seen this before on any of my other chicks before this batch. Is it a disease? Is it normal?
It's on both of the legs like right where a spur would grow. But I've had chicks that were roosters and none of them had it.
Tell me if y'all see it, and if not I can show y'all another pic.
Thanks
I've seen those on a lot of my birds. I never paid attention to whether they were boys or girls or if they turned into spurs. I've never kept a rooster long enough to ever develop spurs.

Read back 71 posts would like to comment on all of them, but with my IPad it is hard to keep my place. There is some good butchering info, grinder for plexi glass for sure also best to cut chicken wire and hardware cloth. Lots of adorable baby chick picks. Only post I wasn't sure about was a t-shirt with a lie about a man that does not exist in nature ( crazy chicken man).

she was right ya know   giggles

I should have gone home and laid down, but I was actually very productive and got my run fixed so I can leave my flock up while we are out of town (they normally free range). They were not happy tonight, but finally settled down and went to sleep inside the coop (they haven't done that in a good 6-8 months!) instead of on top of the coop or in a tree.

Plz pray for us because we might have a death in the family it is my mom's mom

Prayers for your family runt.
