Uhhh, if I were one whose countenance has never been seen in these hallowed pages, I doubt I'd open that particular can of worms.....just thought I'd bring that small factoid to light.

Decisions, go to the local ER who wouldn't listen to me, or compromise about my daughter's strep infection - or go to the ER who wouldn't listen to me about my son's lungs, and ended up doing a blood gas, and seeing their monitor was wrong after I INISISTED his color didn't match the sat's on the screen- but it's already on history that if I say he needs a blood gas, i'm usually right....
oh Kaj!! I am sorry to read this! praying!

Hi, I'm in desperate need of some help!!!... I've been hatching consistently every weekend for the past 6 weekends and I cannot for the life of me figure out why I'm getting such poor hatches!!! I usually set about 2 dozen to hatch every weekend and I usually only get 1/3 of those eggs to develope full term, and then of those that develope only a handful hatch!? Sometimes I get some sticky chicks and a few with curled toes, also... I candle each week when I set the next batch, and what I'm not understanding is how come of all the eggs I see developing full term I only get a few chicks (a handful, usually) to successfully hatch!?
My dad and I repaired a sportsman 1202 cabinet incubator and have been running it at 99.5 with a humidity around 40-50 and increase humidity during hatches. I supplement my birds with red cell (iron) as I was told it would create more vigorous chicks and better hatches (i've had a smidge more chicks hatch using this)... I collect eggs twice a day, and store them on an egg turner for no more than a week. My birds are under natural and artifical light for 15hrs a day and get a 20% protein diet alongside oats and the iron supplement. They have adequate housing and free range when the weather is nice. The eggs being incubated are LF faverolles eggs. I keep hitting rut after rut with these birds and I really just want to hatch out a couple hundred of these before summer! I NEED help! Thank you!

Pics can help us help you more.
we could throw all sorta humidity numbers to you, but the fact is your checking air cells and running humidity via that, I dont even look at my hygros anymore I know my incubators enough to know what pans to add water in and when to do via visual inspection of air cells,, nothing wrong with that, your doing it right, IF you are certain you know what they should look like. So if you have some in the bator and mark air cells and snap a pic of them and what day they are on it can help us help you. Also you take eggs out of the cabinet and hatch in a hatcher correct? if you are staggering I pray your using a different hatcher, and rotating trays as some may get warmer and cooler.

AS FAR AS PEROXIDE, I think you have a good grip on this AS LONG AS YOUR NOT MIXING IT WITH OTHER CHEMICALS!! it may be the addition of denregard? is that a possibility? @fancychickenlover Also you have plenty of air flow, turners are in working condition and water for adding humidity is clean and not getting moldy?

Late embryo deaths have been associated with deficiencies of vitamin B12, vitamin D, vitamin E, vitamin K, pantothenic acid, riboflavin, folic acid, biotin, calcium, manganese, magnesium, phosphorus, zinc, iodine and thiamin. Excess selenium could increase the proportion of late deaths.

Excess iodine and vitamin D can cause high embryo losses.

Quote: Ya think? This place is literally crawling with rabbits. I don't know what their fascination with this particular patch of ground is, but I can't remember them never being here in abundance. They're so used to seeing me that some will let me get within 3' before they run off, which is never far.

mornin whites! she was crying before school this morning. She really did alot on Sat and then Sunday she wasnt feeling good at all. We dont have a clue what up with her, when I start to believe its all in her head, she shows signs that it is something else, example of playing outside for the first time all winter Saturday and then getting hit with pain during the night again and then all Sunday. It is freaking me out because I dont know which way to turn or who to turn to. Doc said he ordered Toxicity tests but I asked that he let me know when in system so I can get her there but no response ughhhhh
