Looks like my hatch is over. 8 and 9 just popped out. 10 pipped but didn't make it. 11 didn't even internally pip.

Prayers need we are getting a bunch of warning for really bad weather tonight and tommorow.we have a rotten tree next to our house please don't blow to hard wind.and also what do I do if the power goes out

Sally wrote a great piece on how to prepare for power outages. It is in the notes chicken hawk. I hope things go well.

Started finding more turkey eggs..... Also - found a nest of 13 eggs hidden in our water shed. threw the eggs in the incubator, they may or may not be viable. we will see. LOL didn't think it was safe to eat them though, so well see if any develop or if we found the nest too late.

we are down to 3/6 red sex links.

1 died to a horse.
1 died to a prolapse
1 decided to wrangle with a possum because she didn't want to come back before dusk. :(

The sex links are prolific layers, but are dumb as rocks, no survival skills, and seem to die at like 100% the rate of our other chickens. Even the ones who lay almost daily. It's so weird!

Definitely, do not think we'll be replacing them down the road with the same. Maybe the sex link X EE cross will have the nice eggs + smartness of our EEs.
