She doesn't have any wild predators. She seriously asked me what a skunk smells like! One sprayed outside my window last night. She had me choking as I tried to describe the stench!

You never offered up geese! I have never even seen a skunk run over on the side of the road.

No bears? Yotes? Mink? Weasels? Hawks?

Now, if only it didn't hit 452,488,172 degrees in summer that would be a lovely place.
Naw, Ralphie's house is only terrifying if you're a dux.

We have hawks, and I reckon a weasel or some such. Definitely have coyotes, and apparently an alligator.

As chickencanoe says, she has them. She just hasn't seen them.
With my luck, I will move down south, and lose my entire flock of SPR.

Hmm, day 7 candled a dozen turkey eggs and no veins

It's too early to really see. Breathe in. Breathe out.

Had to help out a hatchling. Pipped but didn't make any further progress. Poor little thing had the membrane stuck on its head/neck. Yolk sack completely absorbed. I cleaned off most of the dried up membrane from its head. Put it back in to rest and dry off. I'll check on it frequently. I know chicks that need help sometimes don't thrive. I'll sure try my best though! Humidity in the incubator has been a steady 68-72%, so I don't think that was it. Keeping my fingers crossed it will do ok!

I always leave room for human error. If it pips, and is shrink wrapped, I help.

Some of the chicks have been moved to the brooder and the test hatch chicks have been moved out to the grow out pen. I only know what 2 of them are (that are from the shipped eggs). One is a bantam Welsummer and one is a standard Welsummer. Cute little things. Pics to come once everyone has hatched that's going to hatch.

They were the first eggs she laid maybe that is the issue.
