EDUCATIONAL INCUBATION & HATCHING CHAT THREAD, w/ Sally Sunshine Shipped Eggs

I've got 18 hens and 5 boys, I really need to downsize.
I am going to sell a few of my hens to make room for the new colored egg layers if I have any pullets :/ I am going to add two or three HRIR. I have decided though that only two coops are allowed for winter. Thus, I can only have eighteen hens with two cocks in the one coop tops, and ten hens and a cock in the red's coop. Everything else must go. My goal is eight and sixteen tops by fall.

Well @Fire Ant Farm I have over 1300' of fence to clean trees and little brush out of tomorrow. Too bad you are so far away. We could take turns helping each other, and really knock out the jobs. I have the feeling that I am going to be very sore come Easter morning.

Yeah; but you gotta admit "Big Rock Candy Mountain" still has a different flavour to it than "All My Exes Live in Texas"

I have a Ricky Skaggs tape somewhere, love the beginning, someone says in a low voice "country rocks bluegrass rules!"
I like the old folk though, those kids songs, many old folk songs were like that. Look up Grant Rogers Bessie the heifer, you tube has it.
My grandad played music with him, went to the Grand ole opry with him when my mother was a kid.
They both played with Pete Seeger also. Not my favorite cup of tea as far as politicking goes but still pretty cool none the less.

Now "cat's in the cradle" is stuck in my head.

Mine also now... Chapin's is a lot better than the one I grew up with, ugly kid Joe version, super popular in the early 90's.
I'd like to know how Chapin got Tommy Chong to play on that vid though

, dude behind him looks just like Chong.
Super sad song hearing it now, don't think we ever really knew what it was about when we listened to it young.
Reminds me of my bringing up, hope I'm there more for my kids more than my dad was, who was there more for us than his dad was. Hug them a little tighter tomorrow.

3rd great grandbaby joined the world this evening; 1st boy.

Congratulations! Whoop!
Took #5 to give us a boy...(figured it was going to end up twin girls)
DW would get mad, when they were younger and all of them went shopping/to town with us, always someone, usually a little old lady would say "I see someone had to have a boy" and smile, pretty nice about it.

Yeah! We had to have him genetically engineered, cost us a ton of money!!

DW would get soo mad, 'would you please stop saying that!' Lol!
